MORELLO SERVICES – THUNDERSPORT GP1 2012 (release 1 of 12)
After an initial year as title sponsor of the Thundersport GP1 (inc Superstock 1000) grid, Steve Buckenham was so delighted with the coverage and the quality of competition, that the Morello Services boss has signed up for a second season as title sponsor.
Not only will Morello Services once again be funding the extensive TV coverage for the class, he has also decided to give the championship contenders a generous prize fund to chase. The purse will be worth £5 per championship point as the season progresses and the contenders rack up their credits.
POINTS MAKE PRIZES
To activate their credits each rider must have 7 championship race finishes (whether point scoring or not) which can be achieved in just 3 meetings, as there are 3 championship races per event.
Once a rider reaches 60 championship points during the course of the season, including any scored during those first three events, £300 of prize money will be automatically allocated to his/her championship account and all subsequent points will be credited at the £5 per point rate.
From round 3 onwards, 50% of the prize money will be paid out in cash during the Sunday TV podium presentations, with the other 50% being ‘banked’ for each riders end of season prize cheque at the presentation evening.
A modest Morello Services sticker/graphic will be supplied and will be required to be displayed on each machine to qualify for prize money.
(location to be set out in the Supplementary Regulations)
The above sponsorship equates to significant funding to help all riders contesting the Thundersport GP1 championship and we would like to thank Morello Services on behalf of all of our competitors for their faith and commitment to the Thundersport GB sporting ethos.
More from us on Sunday. regards Dave
