Best Brit engine tuners?

It's maybe a bit cheeky and it sure as hell wont be a scientific survey, but who do the forum members rate as four-stroke engine tuners in UK? We hear a hell of a lot about Ten Kate, but surely there are people in the UK who have similar skills? I'm not thinking about out and out top-end power so much as good power and reliability without a refresh every 300 miles.

So, to get the ball rolling and in no particular order, has anyone had any experience of any of the followings' work? FW Developments, Chris Mayhew, Bob Farnham, John Hackett, John Trigger and...?

It will be a matter of seconds before Phil is routed for :)

I have worked for Farnham and Hackett in the past, and I rate both of them. Plus don't rule out the much lesser-heard of Ricardo's, who have been involved in uncountable high-profile projects, but obviously not so much at Club level :P

Rob, did you mean rooted or routed?

Just because they mean very different things and Phil probably wouldn't like it to sound like he has been on the wrong end of a rout!

Don't forget Keith and Andy at Dynotech in Basingstoke who has worked on our ZXR400s.

Bob Farnham who did a spanking engine build on my ZXR400

Graeme France for Honda 400s

Robin at RHR Tuning in Essex with probably the cleanest Dyno in the country..it is like a hospital!

my other half quietly producing a true 196bhp plus gixxer thou engine for real money that will last all season with no need for ott fancy stuff!

Also is building some very quick SV engines for the UK and Ireland at present.

Also bob farnham another all too modest superb engine magician.

Well i must add Hodson Engineering to the list

Not got a bad word to say. Great bloke and a brillant mentor for me learnt loads
very good engine tuner i havent never had a engine go bang in the 5 years so speaks for its self

Very well priced .. engines show good power ... easy to talk to .....

Lawerence Hodson 01732 463658

Never used any other tuners but if asked

Phil Seton .... top bloke ... allways helpfull ... a very good tuner just walk the paddocks most bikes have a seton stiker on the undertrays

Bob Farnham ... well good enough for Steve Mercer and can produce some good bikes

Mike Smith ... heard loads of good things.

Dyno - Tech ... do some brillant work ( sugar that hurt ) put some great bikes on track

So loads there to pick from all good but a few are just that bit better in my eyes

Another vote for Steve Jordan. Manages to build engines that are both reliable and quick.

See www.minitwins.co.uk for the latest on the MiniTwins race series.

Another vote for Graham Barrow here. Very good price for the work you get and he seems able to work his magic on anything.
I once used Tony Scott who was also excellent but you get what you pay for (not cheap) and he doesn't take as much on these days.
If you can't fix it with a hammer. Its an electrical problem.
