Zx10r brake upgrade

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I'm racing a 2013 zx10 but looking for a caliper upgrade with performance to £££. The bike currently has stock discs, rcs master cylinder and race pads and braided lines. I know a set of hpks is the obvious choice. I'm looking for power and feel as the current set up feels crap and I know I can stop the bike in a shorter distance. What I'm after is less lever pressure to conserve energy and improve my braking. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Cannot say from personal experience but I have seen a fair few with M4 Brembo calipers.  I was lucky as mine came with full on Brembo  monoblocks and a Brembo m/c

Is the master cylinder the correct ratio type for those stock Tokicos?

Makes a world of difference.

Get on the phone with Bike Torque Racing and explain what your feeling and what you want?

Might save yourself some money.

Discs will make more difference than calipers, in my opinion. Get some PFM or Brembo race spec discs, higher coefficient of friction and the power and feel will improve. The difference between the stock discs on my zx6 and the brembo HPK is very noticeable!
