BMW S1000RR VDS Fault

Recommended Posts

After some help guys. Just changed the loom on the bike. Put it all back together, go to start it up and it blows the 40 amp fuse and comes up with VDS on the dash. Managed to stop the fuse blowing but still have the fault that stops the bike starting.

VDS is the drop sensor. Its in its cradle and is the right way up, tried taking it out etc with no joy. Put the old loom back in and still have the fault.

Close to torching the bike now, one of the jobs I wish I hadnt started

Hi, Did you ever get to the bottom of this fault?

My BMW is doing something very similar. Think mine may be caused busy a faults HM quickshifter.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Jim

VDS fault is the immobiliser antenna

I've had that, turned out to be a chaffed wire under the seat. Deep joy finding that! Can bus can be a complete tw*t to fault find. Was the replacement loom new?

Also bare in mind that there's different spec looms for bikes with optional extras.
