The motor was refreshed 500 miles ago with the intention of using the bike at the last two rounds, but we moved onto the 2016 bike instead. This bike was then kept as a spare. Hello and Happy New Year, I'm a 26 year old keen biker with relatively limited experience. I've held my full road license for a year and haven't done any trackdays. I am currently riding an old comfortable (read: heavy & slow) 750 with plenty of torque but not much "oomph". Still, I enjoy riding it and make the most of the power the bike has to offer. I've been to a number of small race events in the South West / Wales and having been bought Guy Martin's aptly titled 'Autobiography' for Christmas I have added club level motorcycle racing to my bucket list with a permanent marker. I'm not a millionaire looking to take up a hobby, this is something I really want to get into and have done for a long time. I am going to have to do some serious saving to fund this and I am willing to give up a good deal of my time to make it happen. I've done all the research on the ACU licence requirements and plan to do my assessment at Pembery in March with NG Road Racing. But the question I'm really struggling with right now is what bike should I be investing in? A light and fast 600 sounds dangerously fun to me but then I also like the idea of riding a smaller cc bike and properly pushing it to its limits. But I'm finding the classes below 600 seem to change like the wind and with so many options working out which one is right for me seems almost an impossible task. What would you recommend for someone in my position and can you offer any words of wisdom for a young inexperienced rider? Thanks, V
