With a standard engine but full system exhaust and pc3 etc would this put. E in the super stock class?
Realistically will I need a new set of tyres every race weekend to be competitive?
Any other advice for a newbie would be much appreciated, cheers

Don't be put off by not being able to have the newest bike, you can still be competitive on an early-ish CBR. Being a Novice, you have quite a few attractive options that aren't open to more experienced riders and your first season will be the one you learn most in. A 636 Kwaka is not eligible for Formula 600 or Superstock 600 classes, so it's not a good bike to start on, as it gets outgunned in the big bike classes.
Thundersport GB do the HMT Racing Pre-National Sport 600 class, which isn't open to National licence holders and the level of competition, whilst very good, is not as intimidating as going straight into Formula 600 or Superstock 600.
BMCRC do a Rookie 600/1000 championship which is only open to newcomers and this is also a good place to learn and enjoy your first season.
NG Road Racing run a Novice Licence Holders race at the end of each day, which pits you against all the other newcomers.
Derby Phoenix have an excellent Steel Frame / Pre-Injection 600 championship. This would involve getting a slightly older bike than you are looking at, but might be worth a look.
They also have a fledgling Early Injection championship which might suit you. I'm sure Jordan Giddings will be along shortly to tell you all about it.
A lot depends on where you want to race and how far you want to travel. Whatever you decide to do, Good Luck.

They seem to be coming in at around £3500/4000 for a good one so out of your budget.
As others have said, you will easily pick up a pre injection 600 with spares wows etc for the cash you have though.
To answer your tyre question, I used 2 fronts all season last year and a rear a meeting. (06 R6)
I used a pair from last season at the first meeting and finished well but ideally I would change the rear every meeting.

Also on a side note, a sponsor is helping me out with tyres this year, so I'm running new rubber for each meeting, but I don't know how people seem to get several meetings out of a fresh set on a minitwin.. I got the Friday test and Saturday races out of one rear and needed a new one for Sunday! Front lasted well though.. But yeah, gets expensive when you start pushing.
NEMCRC are a superb club and I'll be doing all four rounds with them this year. Realistic amount of money for a championship, and means you're also good to do a few rounds with other clubs.
I'm a Stockton lad myself, so feel free to give us a heads up if you want any advice or help about racing locally.
Cheers,
Keith #44.
